Bayer Top Choice
Red imported fire ants (Solenopsis invicta) are known for their painful stings and bites. These ants are native to Central and South America, but have become established in Florida for decades. Native fire ants (Solenopsis geminata) are also found in Florida, but not to the extent of red imported fire ants.

When disturbed, fire Ants readily bite and sting people and pets. Fire ants pose a serious health risk, ranging from painful stings and swelling to anaphylactic shock.

Until recently there has been no treatment for fire ants that had any lasting effect. The best system has been to apply baits to visible colonies as needed. Fire ants would usually return within a short period.

Our standard practice is to treat for fire ants when we see active mounds, but without being able to offer a call-back guarantee. Broadcast treatments, either with bait or contact insecticides, provide short-term control.

Most pest control products have a very limited life in the environment. We now have a method of controlling fire ants that may last for a full year. The product used for this is TopChoiceTM by Bayer Environmental Science. This is a proven treatment that can be guaranteed. It is long lasting and stable in the environment. It offers long term relief      from fire ants while having negligible effect on most non-target species.

We encourage you to watch the product manufacturer's You Tube video here for more information about this treatment. The treatment is simple yet effective. Call us for a price quote and we will explain how it works.
